May 3, 2010- Japanese American Citizens League is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior who is a member of a single-parent family. The student must be of Japanese ancestry and reside in LA County or Orange County. Come to the College/Career Center for an application.
 
May 6, 2010- City of La Palma is offering a $500 scholarship to high school seniors who live in the City of La Palma. Extracurricular activities and academic performance are desired. Come to the College/Career Center for an application.
 
May 15, 2010- The Ray Shine Foundation is offering one $500 scholarship to ABCUSD high school seniors who plan to enter higher education and remain active in musical activities during college. Applicants should have at least a 3.0 GPA to apply.

May 28, 2010- Marinello Schools of Beauty is offering up to $10,000 in tuition for seniors who will be attending Marinello in the fall. Applicants must write an essay with the topic “What will I do to make a difference?” and attend the finalist cosmetology and esthetics skills competition. June 1, 2010- Hong Kong Schools Alumni Federation Scholarship Foundation is hosting an essay contest. Winners can receive up to $600 cash reward. Contestants must be in the 12th grade. Contestants must choose one of the following topic as the title for their essay; “Water is Life” or “How Global Warming Affects our Precious Natural Resource “Water””. June 1, 2010- Hong Kong Schools Alumni Federation Scholarship Foundation is offering two $2,000 scholarships to seniors who have a 3.5 unweighted GPA and have been accepted to a 2-year or a 4-year college. Students of any ethnicity may apply. Come to the College/Career Center for an application.
 
June 7, 2010- Stuck at Prom Scholarship. Win up to $3,000 when you and your date attend a high school prom as a couple in the spring wearing the most original attire that they make from duct tape. The award honors both male and female high school students who excel in academics, athletics and student leadership. Eligibility for application is limited exclusively to men and women whose senior year of high school is the 2010–2011 academic year, who has at least a “B” grade average, and participates in at least one of 27 sports. SunTrust is offering high school seniors with a $1,000 scholarship for first year expenses at an accredited college or private career school. One winner will be chosen every two weeks from October 30, 2009 through May 14, 2010. Students can begin registering September 14, 2009 and the first drawing will be held on October 30th.
